Who We Are
Arctic Footsteps is a small, independent tour company based in Longyearbyen, dedicated to meaningful experiences in the High Arctic. The focus is simple: combine quality hiking with thoughtful storytelling so every route feels like more than just a line on a map.
What We Believe
This is not mass tourism. Groups are kept small, the pace is human, and the aim is to create space for silence, reflection, and genuine connection with the landscape. Each tour is built around three pillars: respect for nature, curiosity about Arctic history and culture, and a calm, safety‑first approach to being in the wilderness.
How We Guide
Routes are chosen to suit the conditions and the people on the trip, not the other way around. Guests are given context for what they see glaciers, old mining structures, coastal geology, wildlife tracks, so the day becomes a story instead of just a series of viewpoints. The goal is for you to leave knowing not only where you have been, but why these places matter.
What You Can Expect
You can expect honest communication about weather and conditions, clear information before and during the tour, and a guide who is present, attentive, and genuinely invested in your experience. Whether it is a city walk, a short peak above Longyearbyen, or a full‑day mountain expedition, every tour is planned to feel personal, unhurried, and memorable.
