Get ready for a true Arctic expedition on one of Svalbard’s most remote and spectacular snowmobile journeys. From Longyearbyen, we travel deep into the frozen wilderness of Spitsbergen, where glaciers, sea ice, and vast untouched landscapes define the day.
This full-day journey takes you across Adventdalen and Sassendalen, over glaciers and frozen terrain, all the way to Mohnbukta on the east coast. There, surrounded by towering ice walls and open Arctic silence, we stop for an expedition lunch in one of the most dramatic settings in Svalbard.
Along the route, there are real opportunities to spot wildlife and experience the raw, remote character of the High Arctic.
Itinerary
- Depart early morning from Longyearbyen (around 08:30).
- Drive through Adventdalen and Sassendalen, stopping to enjoy the vastness of the Arctic wilderness.
- Continue over glaciers towards the frozen sea ice.
- Arrive at Mohnbukta on the east coast.
- Enjoy expedition lunch on the sea ice in front of towering ice walls.
- Look for wildlife and photo stops along the route.
- Return to Longyearbyen around 18:00.

This tour is highly dependent on weather, ice and visibility. Your guide may adjust or shorten the route at any time for safety reasons; no refunds will be given for route changes. Participants must be in good physical condition and comfortable with challenging Arctic conditions. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance, including Arctic rescue coverage.
